The theory and practice of Audiovisual Coloring

The thesis discusses the theory and practice of audiovisual coloring. The purpose of this study is to: (a) map the historical development of colour in movies, (b) define the main tasks of the colourists and the necessary tools to perform these tasks, (c) describe and analyse the right colouring material and (d) compare two of the most commonly used colour editing software products. In the practical part, two programs Davinci Resolve and Speedgrade will be compared based on selected parameters. Furthermore, there will be an analysis of the benefits of a Flat profile setting for color adjustment that is available in all DSLR cameras. This theory should be beneficial to those who are using standard digital cameras and have just started their learning about coloring. They can get knowledge of what coloring involves, what it is based on (the thesis includes a chapter of color theory), the suitable material for successful coloring and how to select the right software for their workflow.
The colour theories of the Enlightenment and their influence on avant-garde art

The aim of my thesis on colour theories of the Enlightenment and their influence on avant-garde art, was to show the different approaches of modernist artists to the tradition of colour research at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The starting point of the text is the critical analysis of Newton's colour theory, which was conducted by Goethe. The emphasis on empirical experience, which laid the basis of this new science, had a big influence on the work of painter and friend Philipp Otto Runge. The synesthetic theory of George Field also shows an interesting connection to the work of the fin de siècle. The symbolist colour theories are discussed because of their importance to the artists who opened the path to abstract painting, for example Frantisek Kupka, Pieter Mondrian and Vasilij Kandinskij. A chapter was also dedicated to Robert Delaunay, who developed a very sophisticated explanation of how to represent movement in colour contrasts. The American synchronists, who were very proud of their specific artistic movement, were also inspired by Orphism. An important part of the thesis is the focus on Bauhaus artists. Theoretical part is about study of colours as fine art´s mean of expression and its specifics meaning in the movement pop art. There is a colours decription from a physics and optics point of view, its influences and usage in painting. Part of the theory is also small piece of information about the evaluation of pop art and Bauhaus school, where the theory of colours has been processed. Practical part will represent a cycle of paintings treated on principles of pop art language and will be completed with work of colour spectrum.

The aim of this thesis is to suggest a methodics for using colors in marketing and this methodics demonstrate in practice on the specific products of graphic design. To obtain information is used questionnaire investigation. For further determine behaviour of people, their opinions and attitudes is with the part of the respon-dents completed the questionnaire personally with the space for discussion. The results are statistically and graphically analyzed. The attention of the work itself is devoted to the presentation of the marketing research results and to the proposals of methodics for using colors. This methodics is applied to specific products of graphic design.
